Bihar’s innovative Youth Parliament model, launched across 50 colleges, has been awarded by the Ministry of Education for promoting democratic values and civic engagement. Each youth parliament session includes debates on current affairs, mock bills, and Q&A with local politicians. Over 20,000 students have participated so far, and many alumni have gone on to work in public service. The model emphasizes local governance issues such as sanitation, unemployment, and women’s safety. It has sparked greater political awareness and youth participation in village panchayats and municipal elections, becoming a model for replication nationwide.
