Punjab Tourism has launched curated Heritage Food Trails in Amritsar, Patiala, and Ludhiana, combining culinary exploration with local history. Tourists can sample dishes like Amritsari kulcha, Patiala chicken, and makki di roti at age-old eateries while visiting gurdwaras, forts, and bazaars. Guides narrate stories of regional cuisine, migration, and cultural fusion. QR-coded menus offer information on ingredients and recipes. The initiative has boosted footfall and earnings for small dhabas and sweet shops. Future plans include multilingual audio tours and tie-ins with cooking classes and food festivals.
